I covered this proposal a couple weeks ago. It got tabled at the township board last meeting, but this meeting they disapproved the proposal.
The proposal was to amend the sign ordinance to allow churches and other religious institutions to use electronic signs. But there was some concern over the institutions in residential areas and how that would affect the people living in those areas.
I got a soundbite from Mark Kiselbach on the reasons behind the township board’s decision. This was a pretty quick VO/SOT/VO overall.
