This week I was assigned the new drinking amnesty law that recently passed about a month ago. To learn details about the law watch my story below. I was lucky enough to get my two interviews within the first few days of the week. I began by researching what the law was and getting some man on the street interviews on Grand River & M.A.C. I wanted to get the public’s opinion on the new law. Then I interviewed the former student body president of MSU to talk in depth about the law.
For some b-roll I headed over to MSU’s campus to get some footage of students. Let me tell you that was an adventure. I attend Oakland University, so going onto anoter school’s campus is always a weird feeling. I felt like a freshman with no idea where to go! Luckily a nice gentleman saw me standing with my camera and directed me to where there were lots of students. Not only did I have trouble navigating across campus, but I also couldn’t find any students actually on campus! After an hour or two I parked myself near a hall and got my shots.
I was glad this story was finally was able to get me acclimated more with East Lansing. I think I’ve become decently familiar with Meridian Township, and now I can say I’ve done at least one story in East Lansing as well.
