I went to the Harris Nature Center this week to check out their new habitat exhibit being built. The exhibit will feature multiple habitats in one, showing how many different ecosystems all interact.
The actual habitat was still under construction, so I wasn’t able to see a final product. However, it’s expected to be completed some time in September. Instead, I filmed the construction site and surrounding animals in cages that would eventually contribute to the habitat exhibit.
My only struggles with this story were getting the scene well-lit and finding enough b-roll to shoot. With the exhibit under construction, I had to be creative to find interesting b-roll. Also, I brought along my camera light to help light the scene, but it wasn’t working correctly, so shots looked a little dim. Thanks to editing I was able to brighten them up.
I enjoyed this story, and will hopefully be going back soon for a follow up on the completed habitat exhibit!
