This week I covered the millage proposal for the Ingham Health Plan that will be voted on this November. I was able to speak with the Executive Director of the Ingham Health Plan, Robin Reynolds, and luckily I was able to speak to a patient of the plan.

For this story I was focusing on telling an individual’s smaller story through the perspective of my larger story assignment. I was assigned to cover the health plan millage, so once I found a patient to talk to, I was able to highlight her specific experience in the story.
Kathy Holcomb, the patient I spoke with owns Absolute Galleries in Old Town Lansing. I was able to interview her in the store and film people shopping there, so I can tell her story about owning a business as well as the patient perspective.
