So prior to doing this story, I had actually never heard of the Purple Carrot Food Truck. But according to the 4,000 plus likes on Facebook, I knew it had to be pretty epic – and sure enough that was the case. So epic in fact, that the company was featured on national television. But the owners haven’t let the fame stop them from being true to their Michigan roots.
So this Purple Carrot Food Truck is a traveling food truck that specializes in farm grown foods that are harvested in Michigan, and has been serving Meridian Township for over a year. Now, the owners of the food truck are expanding into a restaurant called The Red Haven. I had the opportunity to go over to the site where the restaurant will be located. They were still in the construction stages and getting things set up for their grand opening on Wednesday, October 17.
According to all the comments on the restaurant’s Facebook page, they already have a large fan base of people that can’t wait to experience what the restaurant has to offer their taste buds. I for one would like to try their seasonal menu items and hopefully I won’t be disappointed
