This story put a lot of focus on how parks in Meridian Township, like Hartrick Park, improved, but the real story is the fact that kids under the age of 18 are giving back to this community.
Yes, Eagle Scouts are not a new organization, but how many people actually recognize the fact that certain things we take for granted like the township parks are brought to us in part by the selfless acts of kids? Well I’m sure the scouts’ parents understand this fact, but for those of us who don’t think about these kinds of things, next time you are at a park, look for the plaque that has the name of whoever improved the park and pay them a little respect and recognition.
These organizations turn kids into young adults that will continue to contribute to society in ways like these. This post is merely a thank you to anyone who has contributed to their community, because that is what helps it thrive.
