Well I have to give a big thanks to a fellow intern for her help on this story. Erin Cook spent her Saturday filming the Heritage Festival while I was at work. I appreciate everything she got for me. Heritage Festival was a time for residents to experience what life was like back in the 1700s here in Meridian Township. It seemed like it was a lot of fun to be at. Every shot that Erin had for me, had someone smiling or laughing. It seemed to me like a fun history lesson.
However, I had about an hour to put this whole thing together in time for the show yesterday. I wouldn’t say that I am pleased with how it turned out on my part, but I am happy that I got it done and it still made sense. I have now learned that I need to loosen up a little bit. I am too hard on myself when it comes to my stories. I now know that I can work under pressure and tight deadlines. Yes, I may feel stressed, but I know I can do the work.
On a side note, with working on this story, I have realized that HOMTV is really a great experience because it really puts you in that real world experience of working with others and working under deadlines. After being here since January, I can officially say that I am where I am supposed to be. I live for the stories that I get to work on and although it might not seem like it, I enjoy the pressure to get things done and work hard.
