The Dog Life

In this business new stories become old stories sometimes in a matter of minutes.Screen Shot 2014-03-26 at 2.25.57 PM

Since my last post I had the opportunity to do a story on search and rescue dogs training in our local park and other ones I can’t even remember right now.

I trained my wiener dogs Rocky and Tootsie how to play dead, but I’m not so sure they ever got the whole ‘you can’t pee in the house’ thing. It was pretty fascinating to learn about trailing, air scent/ wilderness as well as cadaver dogs. Makes me understand why I can see it written all over Tootsie’s face when she pees in the house.

The stench of guilt must just be overwhelming for a Screen Shot 2014-03-26 at 2.30.00 PMdog’s nose.

This week I’m crossing over into producing more and working on the Meridian News Now show that airs every Thursday morning. I’ll write scripts, anchor chit chat , and work to organize the rundown of all the stories in the newscast. I’ll also be producing our bi-monthly show Community Connection and editing the show for it to air in April. Did I mention I’ll also continue some reporter work? How I do not know.

My workload has increased and I’m already feeling the burn.

Also, can’t forget I’m training for the Lansing Half Marathon with the entire Michigan State University Field Hockey coaching staff.
