So after all the assignments, it was my crews turn to work the shows and board meetings over the course of last week. It all started Monday with Meridian Magazine and the Planning Commission.
Myself and my fellow interns built the set for Meridian Magazine, and at 5:00pm, it was show time. The biggest thing I learned from the show was how everyone is cue’d. Coming from Lansing Community College, we do not have monitors that the talent can see, so we have a floor director going from camera to camera, telling the talent when and where to look. At HOMtv, they have monitors set up so that the talent can see what is going on, and know when they are live. So instead of a floor director giving the cues, the camera operators give the cues.
After the show, we had to set up for the Planning Commission. Everyone worked together well and we were able to get it done in no time. The positions I got to work during the Planning Commission were Camera, Audio, and Granicus.
Crew B did this again for the Zoning Board on Wednesday.
It was a great week, and coming next week, I will be back to creating promos and whatever else I am assigned. Cannot wait to see whats coming!
