Well it’s that time again for another HOMTV blog post!
Wow, has this month flown by. I picked up my cap and gown last week and in 5 short weeks I will walk across a stage at Central Michigan University’s McGuirk Arena and receive my diploma. I can’t wait to see where life takes me. I can’t wait to be a news reporter for the rest of my life. EEEEEK it sounds so unreal.
Anyways, I took last week off for an interview, so I will post about my experience two weeks ago at HOMTV. I got to the studio at 9 a.m., read over scripts, edited them, and then anchored Meridian News Now Update. It was great to get some anchoring practice in before my interview because they tested me out for an anchor position at this station. I think I did good! I kept in mind what Brandie always tells me, “smile, smile, smile, give energy and connect with the audience”.
I’m looking forward to heading back into HOMTV this week to see everyone’s smiling face. I have to finish up a story and then it’s off to more interviews. Life is pretty hectic right now, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Always remember: just keep swimming (Finding Nemo reference).
Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for reading and keep in touch! Hopefully in my next blog post I can write all about my new job and how HOMTV prepared me for it!
THIS INTERNSHIP ROCKS!
